Not at all. The scan is completely non-invasive and painless. It is performed using a small handheld probe and ultrasound gel, and typically takes around 15 minutes.
Q. Can ultrasound detect old filler?
Yes, ultrasound can detect dermal filler even many years after it has been placed (in some cases 10+ years). This helps us understand what product may still be present and how it is sitting within the tissue.
Q. I’ve had filler elsewhere, can you still treat me?
Yes, ultrasound is especially beneficial in these cases. It allows us to assess previous treatments, identify any migration or irregular placement, and make safe, informed decisions about whether to dissolve or proceed with further treatment.
Q. Do I need to bring any information to my appointment?
