Treatment FAQs
Q. How many treatments will I need to see results?
For Profhilo Body, we recommend an initial course of 2 to 3 treatment sessions, with an interval of four weeks between sessions.
We also recommend top-up and maintenance sessions to maintain results. Depending on your body’s response to the initial treatment, this can be from 4 to 6 months after your initial course.
Q. How long will it take for me to see results?
You should notice an immediate improvement in the laxity of your skin within 2-4 weeks after the initial injection. Throughout the course Profhilo will encourage the production of four different types of elastin and collagen which will result in skin rejuvenation, improved skin hydration and a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles on the treated area. To maintain best results, we advise having a second session four weeks after the first treatment.
Q. Are there side effects?
After the Profhilo Body treatment it is normal to experience mild bruising and swelling alongside redness. These side effects should moderate within the first two weeks.
Please always refer to your tailored aftercare document for your treatment for more information about how best to reduce any bruising or swelling following treatment.
Q. Who is suitable?
This treatment is suitable for anyone who is beginning to notice increased skin laxity and sagginess as a result of normal aging or moderate weight loss. This treatment does have permanent results but of course as the body continues to age you may require some top up treatments to maintain your results.
Q. Treatment, Travelling and Big Events
Travelling:
Flying can increase the chances of swelling after your treatment, this isn’t a problem and it is still possible to travel around your appointment, but we would recommend using ice to combat any swelling that you experience.
Big Events:
We advise booking far in advance of any big events you have coming up to allow us to get you started on the Profhilo Body treatment with enough time for you to see the best possible results for your big day. We ask all of our patients who have big events coming up, to get in contact with us before booking so we can best arrange your treatment to happen at the recommended number of weeks before your event.
