Excess Sweating
Hyperhidrosis is a condition that causes abnormal excessive sweating which isn’t always related to heat or exercising. It can affect the entire body or can only affect select areas such as the under-arms, hands and feet. There are several causes for hyperhidrosis but the most common is genetic and due to the sweat gland nerves becoming overactive, and causing you to sweat when you don’t need to. If severe, hyperhidrosis may cause you to sweat so much that you sweat through your clothes and this can begin to disrupt your normal daily activities. We know this can be very distressing for our patients with this condition and the social anxiety and embarrassment it causes can be very detrimental to both physical and mental health. We are happy to say we offer a botulinum toxin treatment that can help combat excess sweating and help rebuild your confidence.
