The tear trough, specifically, is the deep groove that forms from the middle corner of your eye near the nose, down towards your cheek. Dark circles and wrinkles around the eyes and tear trough have a collection of causes, which can be due to ageing, genetics and your environment; it is an issue that concerns men and women of all ages.
At Trikwan Aesthetics, we specialise in a safe and natural-looking Tear Trough Filler Treatments which rejuvenate the under eye, leaving you with an instantly brighter, younger looking result that lasts up to a year.
This treatment is one of our most popular. Many places will use thick products or products that attract a lot of water to the under-eye region, leaving treated eyes puffy and worse off. Furthermore, use of needles directly under the eye makes the treatment a painful one that can then go on to have significant bruising.
At Trikwan, we use a microcannula which means no sharp needle goes anywhere near the eye, meaning a virtually painless and quick treatment with minimal swelling and a very minimal risk of a small amount of bruising. We use Teosyal Redensity II filler only, which has 15 different added ingredients for maximum undereye rejuvenation. Three main antioxidants brighten the under eye and rejuvenate the skin in the region: Glutathione, N-acetyl-L-cysteine and Alphalipoic acid.

Q. What are the aftercare procedures?
For treatment options involving filler:
- Avoid touching or rubbing the treatment area 4 hours after the treatment.
- No makeup should be applied to the treatment area 4 hours after the treatment. (Ensure your makeup application is thoroughly clean before applying)
- Avoid excessive drinking of alcohol for 24 hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours
- Avoid exposing the treated area to intense heat (e.g. Sauna, steam room, hot bath, hot compress, hot teas/coffees) for the first 72 hours.
- Swelling does not always occur but may last up to 2 weeks in some patients, depending on procedure.
Q. Are there any side effects?
Immediately after treatment, there may be slight redness, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. The inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a few hours. If it continues or if other reactions occur, please call us.
Q. Treatment, Travelling and Big Events?
Travelling:
Flying can increase the chances of swelling after your treatment, this isn’t a problem and it is still possible to travel around your appointment, but we would recommend using ice to combat any swelling that you experience.
Big Events:
We advise booking far in advance of any big events you have coming up, to allow any swelling to subside and allow us to address any issues or top ups that my need performing to maximise your results. We ask all of our patients who have big events coming up, to get in contact with us before booking so we can best arrange your treatment to happen at the recommended number of weeks before your event.
Q. When will I see results?
For filler treatment, the results will be seen immediately after treatment, and fully realised once any redness and swelling has subsided.
