DermaPen is an FDA approved skin treatment which uses a handheld device to perform microneedling of the skin for visible, clinically proven results.
DermaPen Microneedling is a skin treatment that uses 12 small, sterilised needles to cause micro-injuries to the skin. The purpose of this is to cause controlled damage that triggers the skins natural healing processes. These healing processes generate growth factors that result in the stimulation of new collagen and cellular tissue in order to improve skin texture, elasticity and overall skin health.
When each of the DermaPen microneedles causes micro-injuries, blood flows to the surface of the skin and a wound healing process begins. This process happens in 3 stages.
1st Stage: Inflammation – The immune system increases blood flow to the area, disinfects the wound and begins to form new tissue.
2nd Stage: Proliferation – The growth of new blood vessels in the area stimulates new cell production
3rd Stage: Remodelling – Healing of previous skin scarring, pigmentation, aged skin, enlarged pores and thinned skin is promoted by the introduction of growth factors and new cell growth in and around the treated area.
DermaPen Microneedling is primarily used on the face, but can be applied elsewhere, to reduce the appearance of:

Treatment FAQs
Q. How many treatments are required?
3-4 sessions at intervals of one month apart.
Q. Does it hurt?
You should expect a mild prickling sensation throughout treatment however most people find that this discomfort is minimal and would rank the pain a 1-3 out of 10.
Q. What areas can it be used on?
DermaPen is primarily used for targeting the signs of ageing in the face however can be applied to other areas of the body.
Q. What side effects should I expect after treatment?
Redness, minor bleeding and slight swelling is possible during this treatment. Minor flaking of the skin can happen in rare cases and when it does occur, it should settle within 2 weeks of treatment.
Q. Treatment, Travelling and Big Events:
Travelling:
Flying can increase the chances of swelling after your treatment, this isn’t a problem and it is still possible to travel around your appointment, but we would recommend using ice to combat any swelling that you experience.
Big Events:
We advise booking far in advance of any big events you have coming up, to allow any swelling to subside and allow us to address any issues or top ups that my need performing to maximise your results. We ask all of our patients who have big events coming up, to get in contact with us before booking so we can best arrange your treatment to happen at the recommended number of weeks before your event.
