Lumigan, also known as Latisse, is the only prescription medical eyelash serum clinically proven to make eyeslashes thicker, longer and darker.
Originally prescribed as a medical treatment for the eyes, Lumigan was found to have an amazing side-effect on the eyelashes of patients: it caused them to be thicker, longer and darker. Lumigan was found to be so efficient for increasing the length, thickness and pigment of eyelashes that it was rebranded to become the first and only medical eyelash serum that is FDA approved.
A multitude of studies have shown that Lumigan causes the eyelashes to be:

Lumigan is composed of a modified version of the medication Bimatoprost. This is a synthetic form of prostaglandin, which is a substance made in response to injury to help control inflammation and the regeneration of tissue.
This medical serum, from Allergan, is applied to the hair follicles to adjust the hair cycle. It causes hairs to grow for longer, resulting in longer and thicker lashes. It’s important to note that this serum does not make hairs grow faster, so it takes a few weeks for its effects to become apparent. You should expect to begin seeing some results at 1-4 weeks, with full results realised up to 4 months from treatment start date.

Q. How do I use Lumigan?
To start with Lumigan is used once a day, applied specifically to the base of your upper eyelashes using single use brushes and ampoules. Once you begin to see results, and at the point at which you are happy with your result, you then switch to a maintenance regime of using the serum 2-3 times a week in the same way.
Q. Are there side effects?
Lumigan is known to have some possible side effects. Rarely it can cause some irritation to the eyes, including some redness and dryness. The precision of application is also important, as if too much is applied to the surrounding skin it may start to cause hyperpigmentation of the skin in this area as well as the eyelashes themselves. Equally, if you get too much in your eyes it may cause some pigmentation of your irises as well. However, both of these effects are completely reversible upon the termination of the products use. Most people tolerate the serum very well however, and do not experience any side effects at all.
Q. How long will it take for me to see results?
You should start to see some results within 1-4 weeks from beginning the treatment, with full results realised in 1-4 months. As mentioned above, once you are happy with the level of results you are experiencing you can drop your usage to a maintenance dose.
Q. How long will results last?
Results will last as long as you continue to use the product. However, if you stop using Lumigan you will revert back to your normal hair cycle growth.
